의정부학교폭력변호사 일본 작가 스즈키 유이 소설 <괴테는 모든 것을 말했다>가 베스트셀러 순위에서 정상을 차지했다.
교보문고가 16일 발표한 1월 둘째 주 베스트셀러 순위에 따르면 <괴테는 모든 것을 말했다>는 김애란 소설 <안녕이라 그랬어>를 제치고 1위에 올랐다. 지난해 11월 출간됐으나 두 달여 후 1위에 오른 것이다.
지난해 11월 출간된 <괴테는 모든 것을 말했다>는 이동진 영화평론가 추천작으로 알려지면서 독자들의 관심을 모았다. 책은 지난해 아쿠타가와상 수상작으로 2001년생인 작가는 첫 장편인 이 작품으로 2000년대생 최초로 아쿠타가와상을 수상했다.
책은 20대부터 50대까지 고른 지지를 얻었다. 30대 구매자 비중이 29.0%로 가장 높았고, 40대(25.3%), 20대(20.3%), 50대(18.3%) 순이었다.
베스트셀러 상위권에는 소설과 투자·경제서가 이름을 올렸다. 한로로 <자몽살구클럽>이 4위를 차지한 가운데 성해나 <혼모노>(6위), 구병모 <절창>(8위), 양귀자 <모순>(9위) 등 소설 6편이 10위 안에 들었다. 투자·경제서인 이광수 <진보를 위한 주식투자>(3위), 성승현 <캔들차트 하나로 끝내는 추세추종 투자>(5위), 김난도 <트랜드 코리아 2026>(7위)도 주목받은 한 주였다.
금융당국이 금융권의 폐쇄적 지배구조 문제를 개선하기 위한 본격적인 논의에 들어갔다. 당국은 향후 이사회 다양성을 높이고 CEO 연임에 대한 주주 통제를 강화하며, 보수체계를 개선하는 등 3가지 방향에 중점을 둔 개선책을 오는 3월까지 마련할 예정이다.
금융위원회는 16일 권대영 부위원장 주재로 금융감독원·연구원·학계·법조계 등이 참여하는 ‘지배구조 선진화 TF’ 첫 회의를 열었다고 밝혔다. 앞서 금융당국은 지난달 19일 대통령 업무보고에서 금융권 지배구조 문제가 거론된 뒤 후속 조치를 위해 이번 TF를 출범한 바 있다.
TF는 향후 3가지 방향에 중점을 두고 개선책을 수립한다.
우선 이사회가 경영진으로부터 독립해 고유의 역할과 책임을 제대로 수행하도록 사외이사 선임 등 이사회의 독립성과 다양성을 높일 수 있는 방안을 추진할 예정이다. 그간 금융지주 이사회는 경영진·지배주주와 밀착돼 독립적 감시·견제 역할을 하지 못하고, 지배구조 왜곡을 초래했다는 비판을 받은 바 있다.
투명하고 개방적·경쟁적인 승계 프로그램이 작동될 방안도 마련하겠다고 밝혔다. 특히 최근 논란이 된 CEO 연임 관련해선 향후 주주의 통제를 강화하는 방안을 논의할 예정이다.
TF는 금융사 임직원들의 보수체계도 손보겠다고 밝혔다. 주주감시를 통해 과도한 성과급 지급 관행을 개선하며, 과지급된 성과보수를 환수하는 방안을 논의할 예정이다.
권 부위원장은 “은행 지주회사의 경우 엄격한 소유규제로 소유가 분산됨에 따라 주인 없는 회사의 특성을 갖고 있어, 지주회장의 선임 및 연임 과정에서 폐쇄성에 대한 비판이 지속적으로 제기됐다”며 “또 나눠먹기식 지배구조에 안주함에 따라 영업행태도 기존의 낡은 영업관행을 답습하는 등 국민적 기대에 한참 미치지 못하는 실망스러운 모습을 보여왔다”고 말했다.
