수원변호사 청소년들의 극단적 선택을 예방하는 사업을 진행해온 삼성금융네트워크가 그간의 공로를 인정받아 교육부 장관으로부터 표창을 받았다.
삼성금융은 15일 서울 삼성금융캠퍼스에서 진행된 제1회 ‘생명존중 임팩트 데이’에서 전국 4만7000여명 청소년의 마음건강 증진에 기여한 공로로 교육부장관상을 받았다.
삼성금융은 2023년 교육부, 생명의전화와 업무협약을 맺고 초·중학생들과 대학생 멘토를 중심으로 마음보호훈련 및 생명존중 캠페인을 진행하는 ‘라이키 프로젝트’를 진행해왔다. 이듬해에는 청소년에게 24시간 전문상담 서비스를 제공하는 SNS 상담채널 ‘라임’ 서비스도 시작했다.
삼성금융은 이제까지 진행해온 마음보호 훈련을 수료한 학생이 약 2만8000명이며, 라임 서비스의 누적 이용자는 1만9000명이라고 밝혔다. 심리적 위기 상황에서 라임을 찾았던 청소년 2846명 중 11명이 극단적 선택을 시도하기 전 발견돼 구조된 사례도 있었던 것으로 전해졌다.
삼성금융은 지난해 342개 학교 1만8000여명이 참여했던 ‘라이키 프로젝트’를 올해 500개 학교 2만3000여명을 대상으로 운영할 예정이다. 라임의 상담 인력도 현재 90명에서 120명까지 확충하기로 했다.
이날 사례 발표자로 참여한 라임의 최재훈 상담사는 “상담 신청자의 자기 인식이 ‘완벽해야 하는 나’에서 ‘살아줘서 고마운 나’로 옮겨가는 순간을 지켜보며 SNS 상담의 가치를 확인했다”며 “언제나 연결될 수 있는 작은 채팅창이 청소년들을 위한 안전한 공간으로 오래 남길 바란다”고 말했다.
김남희 더불어민주당 의원이 15일 중대범죄수사청(중수청)·공소청 정부 입법예고안으로 촉발된 당내 검찰개혁 논쟁과 관련해 “특정 집단을 배제하는 것을 정책의 목표로 삼거나 생각이나 입장이 다른 사람을 비난하는 것으로 이 복잡한 방정식을 풀 수 없다”고 밝혔다.
김 의원은 이날 자신의 페이스북에 올린 글에서 “검찰개혁을 포함한 형사사법 절차 개혁의 가장 큰 목표는 국민이 억울하고 고통받는 일이 없도록 해야 하는 것이라고 생각한다”며 이같이 말했다.
검찰개혁안과 관련해 당내에서 강경파를 중심으로 ‘검사에게 일말의 수사권도 남겨둬선 안 된다’며 수사사법관(법조인) 제도 반대, 공소청에 보완수사권 부여 불가 입장이 부각되자, 신중론을 펼치며 숙의를 강조한 것으로 보인다.
김 의원은 “검찰이 한국사회에서 수사 절차에서 과도한 권력을 독점하고, 때로는 정치적으로 움직이고, 때론 억울한 피해자가 생겼고, 많은 국민들이 검찰개혁을 원하신 것도 사실”이라며 “그렇다면 다시는 특정한 집단이나 권력기관이 과도한 권력을 독점해 전횡을 저지르지 못하도록 해야 한다”고 말했다.
김 의원은 그러면서 “검찰개혁만을 바라보다가 경찰 또는 다른 기관이 새로운 권력으로 과도한 권력을 독점하게 된다면 국민들이 더 큰 고통을 받게 될 수 있고, 이를 막기 위한 대책도 반드시 필요하다”고 했다.
김 의원은 “억울하고 경제적 능력이 부족한 형사피해자들이 자신의 권리를 보장받기 위해선 형사사법 절차 설계는 매우 섬세해야 한다”고 강조했다. 그는 “검찰이 수사를 더 잘하고 검찰만이 피해자 보호를 잘 할 수 있다고 생각하지 않는다”며 “다만 어떤 제도든 국민들의 입장에서 피해가 발생하지 않는 것을 목표로 다양한 가능성을 열어두고 열린 토론과 조정을 해야 한다”고 했다.
정성호 법무부 장관은 김 의원의 글에 ‘좋아요’를 눌렀다. 앞서 정 장관은 전날 정부과천청사 출근길에 기자들과 만나 검찰개혁과 관련해 “어떤 게 선이고 어떤 게 악이라기보다는, 어떤 게 국민을 위해 가장 좋은 제도인지 논의를 잘 해봐야 한다”고 말했다.
