인스타 좋아요 구매 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 12일(현지시간) 이란과 거래하는 모든 국가에 대해 25%의 대미 관세를 부과할 것이라고 밝혔다.
AFP통신은 트럼프 대통령이 이날 소셜미디어 트루스소셜을 통해 “이란과 거래하는 모든 국가는 미국과 하는 모든 거래에 대해 25%의 관세를 부과받게 된다”고 말했다고 보도했다. 트럼프 대통령은 이 조치가 “즉시 효력을 발휘한다”면서 “이 명령은 최종적이며 확정적인 것”이라고 적었다.
이란과 거래하는 모든 국가들에 사실상 ‘2차 제재’라 할 수 있는 관세를 부과하겠다는 것으로, 반정부 시위가 이어지고 있는 이란 정권을 압박하기 위한 조치로 해석된다.
또 이란과 관련한 ‘2차 관세’는 이란산 석유의 최대 수입국인 중국을 겨냥하는 측면도 있어 보인다. 미국이 지난 3일 니콜라스 마두로 대통령 압송 이후 베네수엘라산 원유 수출을 사실상 장악한 상황에서 중국은 베네수엘라와 이란 등 에너지 주요 수입처 두 곳에서 미국발 변수에 직면하게 된 셈이다.
백악관은 이날 이란 상황과 관련해 외교적 해결책을 최우선으로 고려하고 있다면서도 군사행동도 선택지 중 하나라는 입장을 밝혔다. 이란 정부는 미국 측에 핵 협상 재개를 제안했으며, 백악관은 이에 응할지를 검토 중이다.
트럼프 대통령은 전날 기자들에게 회담이 준비되고 있다면서도 “현재 벌어지는 일들 때문에 회담이 열리기 전에 우리가 먼저 행동해야 할 수도 있다”고 말한 바 있다.
